"Best day ever"
We had our hand fasting/wedding reception at the Horse and Hound, I cannot rate the landlord, landlady and their team highly enough. The food, service, attention to detail were amazing. They completely embraced our theme, joining in with our geekyness. We stayed over and the room was lovely, very comfortable. Breakfast was yum and very plentiful. Our guests had the best time, many saying they would definitely have a return visit. Fantastic friendly service in a beautiful location and great value for your money.

Visited the Horse and Hound Country Inn at Bonchester Bridge. Nice welcome, shown to the room which was well laid out, ample in size and very clean. A fan had been supplied as we were there in quite hot weather. Our dogs were welcome and we were able to park right at the door. We had drinks in the beer garden which was very pleasant. That evening we had drinks in the bar, which had a great atmosphere with very friendly locals keen to talk. It looks like the original bar, low ceiling, old woodwork. We also ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. I had fish and chips and hubby had scampi. Both excellent portions, nicely presented and well prepared. Would stay here again if in the area.

Great staff, great facilities, great stay!
They were really accommodating, especially given the short notice of our booking!
Great atmosphere and friendly staff/owners, they were able to cater for a gluten free diet and the food still tasted great.
The only shame is that we couldn’t stay longer, there’s plenty to explore nearby and I hope to revisit soon.
The rooms were comfy and clean, especially considering they cater for dogs (you couldn’t tell with the condition of the room!).
If you’re on the fence about this place, 100% book.
"Absolutely fantastic place"
"Charming ambience"
Loved my stay here. Very friendly owners and staff who take the time to have a chat, and great food in the restaurant at very reasonable prices. Locals eat here so that tells you it's good. The room was clean, parking right in front and while the wifi could be better, it was alright.
We wanted somewhere quiet for a few days away. and weren't disappointed. We were made so welcome by Dave and Dawn, their team and all the locals.
A lovely hotel set in beautiful countryside. An ideal base to explore. The rooms were immaculately clean, My room not only had the most powerful shower, that I've experienced in a hotel, but also doubled up as a steam room.
The food was absolutely amazing, and such large portions. I need more days to get through the whole menu.
I will be back!
"Wonderful friendly hotel"
The ”Horse and Hound” gave us fantastic and warm welcome; the team were awaiting our arrival. We were shown to our well presented tasteful and practical room, complete with en-suite facilities complemented by new decor with a firm and comfy bed offering us a great night’s sleep. Our stay was rounded off with a hearty breakfast for our onward journey. Many thanks to Dawn and David and their team for making our stay so pleasant in these difficult times.
